Booked for the Day met to discuss The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates by Wes Moore. Everyone agreed that it was a well written book, and a quick read (especially after some of us struggled to get through Jane Austen’s Persuasion last month!). Some felt the book was sad, and despite knowing from the beginning the fate of “The ‘Other’ Wes Moore” almost everyone read it hoping for another outcome.

We were all impressed with the way the other presented all the facts and situation without bias or judgement; and showed how many different systems – like the education system, prison system, family and community system – are involved in our own lives. We felt the author did a great job of bringing up current, relevant issues within the context of his own life story.

If you enjoyed the Key-Lime pie at the discussion, it is a VERY easy recipe (only three ingredients + crust!) that can be found here, at realsimple.com
